About Kaitlyn Rice

When my daughters were babies, I quit my job in the production end of publishing to stay home and concentrate on three new loves: my two children, and motherhood. My days were filled with things a working mom could only dream about: rainy mornings filled with homemade play dough, cookie cutters and little girl chatter; sunny afternoons at the park; and watching intently while those amazing kids grew in size and independence. As many stay-at-home moms have discovered, play clay has to be cleaned up, the park can be lonely if your companions are all under three-feet-tall, and ... well, children grow in size and independence. As my daughters needed me less, I decided to attempt something else I'd mostly dreamed about: writing fiction. Since romance is my favorite anything, I started there. I wrote when my daughters were away at school, and I didn't tell a soul. Within a year, I had finished a manuscript that no one knew about. My husband needed to move across the state to finish an engineering degree, so I took my secret and my book along with me. I realized I wasn't going to be able to stop writing, so I set up an office and told my husband and daughters. A year later, I sent my third completed manuscript to Harlequin American Romance. You can probably imagine my delight when the editor called a few weeks later to buy it. Think euphoria, and you've got it. That's when I told the rest of my people. Life hasn't been the same since, but I feel that I've found my calling. My sixth release, The Third Daughter's Wish, is still available through various Online resources. Many of my previous releases are also available for purchase. Check back here for updated details on future publications.
